Welcome
Hello, I am Ruptanu!
I am a PhD candidate in the department of Chemistry at UMass Amherst, advised by Prof. Craig Martin.
My research work consists of molecular engineering and chemical modifications of proteins with the goal of producing cleaner and high yields of mRNA by in vitro transcription (IVT) at an affordable cost. I combine molecular biology techniques and chemical biology to modify T7 RNA polymerase enzyme that is used in IVT both at laboratory and industrial scales. I am a graduate trainee of Chemistry-Biology Interface (CBI) program at UMass Amherst.Â
I had the great opportunity to work with Prof. Vincent Rotello as a Khorana Scholar in the summer of 2017 at UMass Amherst.
Previously I worked with Dr Amit Jaiswal at IIT Mandi during my masters program (2016-2018) and with Dr Ridhhi Goswami at Heritage Institute of Technology, Kolkata during my bachelors program (2012-2016).
